Travis Byrd started racing at the age of 11 driving go-karts. After 5 years of racing go-karts he racked up 126 starts,6 wins, 76 top 3's, and 97 top 5's. After winning 2006 Track Championship at Riverside Motorsports Complex he has made the move to Limited Late Models in 2008. With racing in is blood from his dad Tommy Byrd who has been Crew Chief for many Late Model and Nationwide Drivers, and from his Paw Byrd who raced at Greenville - Pickens with Ralph Earnhart he hopes to keep the family tradition going and make his family proud.
Travis Byrd Racing is back this year with PRO -TECH Racing engines done by BK, with help from his Dad, BK, Sandy, Ricky, Rich, and Aaron. The team has tsted three times so far and things are getting better Travis ran 16.30's 2 weeks ago but slowed last week due to a Shock problem, But the team has fixed that and ready to go next week.
